Payment of Utility Bills
The Public Works Department reads water meters on a quarterly basis. Utility bills are mailed to the property owner listed on record with the city, and payment is due 15 days after the billing date. Utility billing customers may choose to pay their bill with cash or check or sign-up for the online bill pay option. Payments are accepted via mail, the drop box located just outside the front entrance to City Hall, or inside City Hall, during business hours and must be accompanied by the invoice stub.
Please be advised that the property owner is ultimately responsible for payment of the utility bill. If necessary, delinquent utility bills will be assessed to the property at the end of each year.
Questions on Utility Bills
All questions related to usage, payment amount, and late fees should be directed to the city's Accounting Specialist by calling 651-275-4404.
If you notice water usage on your utility bill that is significantly higher or lower than normal, it may be in your best interest to contact the city. A change in usage could be the result of a leaky toilet or faulty water meter, which can usually be repaired fairly easily.
