Parking Regulations
On-Street Parking
Parking of vehicles on city streets is permitted, provided the vehicle is not parked on the street for more than 24 hours, unless posted otherwise. The intent of on-street parking is to supplement off-street parking for residential and commercial properties. On-street parking is not allowed to be utilized as the sole means of parking for any property.
Please be advised that vehicles advertised for sale, boats, campers, off-road vehicles, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, etc., whether attached to vehicle, are not allowed to be parked on any city street at any time. All recreational vehicles and equipment must be parked or stored on private property, with the exception of boat trailers, which may be parked in designated areas.
Winter Parking
Parking of vehicles on city streets and public property is permitted during the winter months, unless posted otherwise. However, vehicles parked on the street or public property must be removed after a snowfall of 2 inches or more, until the street or area has been plowed curb to curb. Vehicles that do not comply with this regulation, or that are parked on the street more than 24 hours may be ticketed and/or towed.
Boat Trailer Parking
On-street boat trailer parking is not allowed. Parking for vehicles with attached boat trailers is permitted in designated areas in the Andersen Corporation parking lot located at the end of 4th Avenue North, adjacent to the public boat launch, for Bayport residents only. Parking is also available for residents and the general public in the Lakeside Park parking lot. Be advised that parking regulations vary by location, so please read posted signage carefully.
An annual resident sticker is required for the Andersen lot and either an annual resident sticker, non-resident annual sticker, or daily permit is required for the Lakeside lot. Daily permit fees are required to be paid utilizing the honor box located in the Lakeside lot. Pay stubs must be placed inside the vehicle, visible through the windshield. Vehicles without an annual sticker or daily permit will be ticketed and/or towed by the Police Department.
Annual resident stickers are typically sold at City Hall beginning in May for the calendar year, subject to river elevations. To access an application form, please refer to the "City Information" section of this website and click on the "City Forms and Handouts" heading on the left sidebar.
