Parks & Recreation

Important COVID-19 Update

Please adhere to CDC guidelines on social distancing when visiting parks and public spaces.

Park Amenities

The city has four beautiful public parks that offer a variety of passive and active recreation facilities. All parks are open to the public daily, sunrise to sunset. The city also has a nature education center located within the residential development "Inspiration", which may be reserved for private meetings or events. Alcohol is permitted in city park and recreation facilities, provided it is in an aluminum or plastic container. Pets are also allowed in outdoor areas, provided they are leashed at all times and accompanied by their owner. However, pets are not allowed in beach areas, park buildings, or where posted.

Lakeside Park offers designated parking stalls for vehicles with boat trailers. However, users must have an annual residents sticker attached to their boat trailer or purchase a $10 daily permit to parking in these stalls. Also, please be advised that no overnight parking is allowed in any city park.

Barker's Alps has one picnic shelter and Lakeside Park has a beach house and four picnic shelters that are available for rent. Both locations are great for graduation, birthday, or retirement parties.

Many of the parks also have ballfields, soccer fields, volleyball courts, or tennis courts that are also available for rent.  For rental fees and additional information visit the related facility webpage, email City Hall, or call 651-275-4404.
