Lakeside Park

Park Overview


Lakeside Park is located at 95 Central Avenue, east of downtown, on the shores of the St. Croix River. This park is a valued community asset which is not only used by residents, but is also a destination for tourists who come to enjoy the scenery and water recreation that this area has to offer.

The Beach House building and picnic shelters are available for rent and ideal for the following events and gatherings.

The softball fields and volleyball courts are also available for rent for leisure activity, tournaments, or leagues.

Picnic Shelters


The city has four covered, open air picnic shelters available for rent, equipped with electricity and four picnic tables. Charcoal grills are located near each shelter and throughout the park.


  • Shelter 1 is by the south park entrance (access off 2nd Avenue South).
  • Shelter 2 is near center of the park, overlooking the river.
  • Shelter 3 is by the north park entrance, closest to the playground (access off Central Avenue).
  • Shelter 4 is next to the north park entrance, closest to the restrooms (access off Central Avenue).

Beach House


The Beach House (pictured above) is an enclosed, three season building located adjacent to the beach area and park shelters 3 and 4 available for rent. It is equipped with electricity, five tables with seating for four at each table, and additional stackable chairs, with a maximum capacity of 50 people. The Beach House also contains one interior handicap accessible restroom and two exterior restrooms, which are available for public use seasonally, during park hours. Users should be advised that the Beach House does not contain a separate food preparation area or wash sink, but water is available from spigots located throughout the park.


Boat Trailer Parking


Lakeside Park does offer designated parking stalls for vehicles with boat trailers. However, users must have an annual resident or non-resident sticker attached to their boat trailer or purchase a $10 daily permit to parking in these stalls. Also, please be advised that no overnight parking is allowed.


Boat Launch

Lakeside Park does not have a boat launch, but there is a free public launch off of 4th Avenue North and a private launch adjacent to the park.
